What is happiness really?? I mean, we hear it all the time, “I just want to be happy!” We talk about it like it’s a destination. We think if we can just get there, then that’s it! Happy for life! Everyone just reaching their hands out for it to fall into place. But we already know that you can be successful in your career and still be miserable. You can have all the money in the world and still feel unfulfilled. You can be loved and envied by millions but still feel empty. It’s because happiness isn’t the same for everyone.
YOU have to CREATE happiness in your own way. Find what makes you happy and apply it to your life. It doesn’t come in one specific looking package.Happiness doesn’t look a certain way, there’s no one way to obtain it. It comes in a billion different ways, you just have to find how it suits you.
Convenience has only been around for so long for humans. Our brains function in a survival mode, unaware of happiness and definitely unaware of what triggers that sweet flow of dopamine. It’s our job to teach ourselves how to trigger that flow. It’s our duty to find healthy ways to instill it into our lives in responsible doses.
Once you obtain happiness, you don’t just keep it. You really do have to put a little effort into it. Sometimes it means working up a sweat at the gym or even just paying your Netflix bill so you can sit and binge. Ya gotta work for it every now and then.
Don’t cut yourself short either. Make yourself happy in a hundred different ways everyday by choosing to focus on what brings you joy. What things trigger your joy? Your comfort? Your safety and laughter? Your love? – however you define it(happiness) study yourself, your likes and wants, then seriously ask yourself, “What do I want out of life?” And find a way to apply that to your life.
Do it in a way that shows the true YOU to others. Don’t fake it because you’re only hurting yourself. I know life happens and we can’t control when shitty things pop up. Medical bills, job loss, death. Life can suck and sometimes those phases linger, so in the meantime focus on the small things that YOU can control. Even if it’s as simple as writing a poem. It’s ok to be sad too and it’s ok to have a bad day. It’s ok to grow sick and tired of people and life. That’s fine and you deserve to have your bad days as well. But really try to help yourself grow out of the those stagnant days by CREATING HAPPINESS FOR YOURSELF.
You deserve to be happy. Begin your search. Dive into a deeeeep deeeeep sea of introspection. See yourself with a sense of well-being and peace of mind. Bring that you to life..you deserve to.
I’m in the process of studying myself to focus in on my personal happiness. I’ll keep you guys updated on what I find out about myself! 😆 Have a wonderful upcoming week you guys! Be happy because you deserve to be!
